About Swaby Clarke & Norris Solicitors

Legal Services

As Christians we do not agree with swearing an oath on the Bible but for those having religious (or other) objections to swearing an oath, it is possible to instead affirm the oath (which has exactly the same legal effect): we are happy to assist with affirming oaths or affidavits or with making statutory declarations.

The Standard Commissioner's fees are £5 for each oath, affirmation or declaration plus an additional £2 for each and every exhibit.

You would not normally need a formal appointment but it is a good idea to telephone beforehand to make sure that someone will be available.  Please bring with you some suitable proof of your identity

Commissioners for Oaths

Our firm is a member of the Association of Christian Law Firms and has a strong policy of non-discrimination.
