Powers of Attorney & Court of Protection

Powers of Attorney

When you need to give authority for another to make decisions on your behalf we can prepare this legal document for you. A legal Power of Attorney gives you peace of mind at a time when you may become unable to manage your affairs. For example, this may be required in ill health or old age.

A common reason for needing Power of Attorney is due to mental difficulties when a Lasting Power of Attorney or an application to the Court of Protection might be required: both of these can be quite expensive. However, people with mobility difficulties (who still have full mental capacity) might still require a simple Power of Attorney, which is usually fairly inexpensive to prepare.

We can help you with all types and varieties of Powers of Attorney.

(for situations where documents cannot be signed)
If someone has already lost their mental faculties and does not have the legal capacity to sign a document then the carers or members of the family will need to make an application to the Court of Protection.

We can help you with preparing all of the documents necessary to make the application to the Court
